Moondance

Tonight the moon shall dance for me
The great pearl of the night
On the crystal white water
It flashes its pure light
And bounces back
A glass splinter in the mirror of the lake
Through the pulse of twinkling star
It streams across night’s canopy
In darkened sea of sky so far
To twirl and spin and leap
And try vainly to outshine the sun
